Dugesia deharvengi sp.nov., a new troglobitic freshwater planarian from Tham Kubio Cave, Thailand (Turbellaria; Tricladida; Paludicola)

Abstract:

A new species of the genus Dugesia (Turbellaria, Tricladida, Paludicola) from Tham Kubio Cave, Khon Khaen Province, Thailand, is described: Dugesia deharvengi Kawakatsu et Mitchell, sp. nov. The present new species is a true troglobite, completely lacking body pigmentation and eyes. D. deharvengi can be separated easily from the other members of the genus in its external morphology and in the details of genital anatomy and histology.
