Girardia aurita
Diagnostic description:
The ventral testes disposition and the separate openings of the oviducts close to the gonopore are characteristic features of G. aurita.
Morphology:
High triangular head. The dorsal surface has a yellow-brown, or brown colour with pale mid-dorsal stripe and lateral margins. The pharynx is pigmented.
Distribution:
Found in pools and small rivers near Port of Spain and in Arima River, Trinidad and Tobago.
Ecology:
Freshwater.
