Romankenkius retrobursalis
Diagnostic description:
Long and laterally displaced penis bulb; large seminal vesicle; copulatory bursa posterior to the male copulatory apparatus.
Look alikes:
Although this species is different from other Romankenkius species, it shows some resemblance to R. sinuosus. Both species have a irregularly shaped penis papilla and a thick coat of muscle around the bursal canal.
The displaced bursa makes R. retrobursalis similar to R. kenki.
Size:
Living specimens are up to 11 mm long and 2 mm wide.
Distribution:
It only inhabits very small streams in the Hartz Mountains, Tasmania, Australia.
Habitat:
Freshwater.
